POST IRENE ACTIVITIES BEDFORD BASIN

ALGOSCOTIA and ALGOMA DARTMOUTH carry out bunkering in the Bedford Basin after the passage of Hurricane Irene , AM on August 29th 2011. Both vessels as well as Algoma teammate ALGONOVA sheltered at anchor in the Basin during the passage of Irene.
Asphalt tank barge John J Carrick and pusher tug Victorious were among the vessels sheltering in the Bedford Basin,Halifax during the passage of Hurricane Irene on the evening of August 28/29 2011.The barge/tug combo is a regular caller at Halifax from the Great Lakes,both vessels are Canadian registered.

JS KASHIMA TV3508 anchored for bunkers in Dartmouth Cove,Halifax on 10th August 2011. Kashima is a 5,400 ton purpose built training ship of the Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force on a training cruise to N.America visiting ports on both the Pacific and Atlantic coasts. The training squadron of three ships departed Halifax on the 14th August with a sailpast from the Bedford Basin led by a Royal Canadian Navy frigate.
